At Vita we employ our own staff in China to make regular visits to factories to quality control material and construction performance. We only use factories who are a unique hybrid of high technology and artisanal handwork in order to maintain crafted finish.

Leather

Throughout our website we price for semi-aniline leather as standard. In many cases pieces can be upholstered in Aniline subject to a surcharge if preferred.

Leather Types

Semi-aniline leather is more durable than aniline whilst still retaining a natural appearance. The increased durability is provided by the application of a light surface coating which contains a small amount of pigment. This ensures consistent colour and imparts some stain resistance. The furniture industry favours the specification of semi-aniline over aniline purely for today’s practical living requirements.

Plywood

All our plywood products are produced using US and Euro certified materials, paints and glues and FSC-certified American veneers.

Plywood is a type of manufactured timber made from thin sheets of wood veneer. It is one of the most widely used wood products. Plywood layers (called veneers) are glued together with adjacent plies having their grain at right angles to each other for greater strength. There are usually an odd number of plies so that the sheet is balanced—this reduces warping.

Materials

Metals

Polished Stainless Steel does not corrode, rust or stain with water as ordinary steel does, but despite the name it is not fully stain-proof.

Materials

Chrome Die Cast Aluminium Die casting is a metal casting process that is characterized by forcing molten metal under high pressure into a mould cavity. Chrome plating is a technique of electroplating a thin layer of chromium onto a metal object. The chromed layer can be decorative, provide corrosion resistance, ease cleaning procedures, or increase surface hardness.

Fibreglass

Fibreglass is a fiber reinforced polymer made of a platic matrix reinforced by fine fibers of glass.
