The Mies Van Der Rohe Barcelona Day Bed is a high quality reproduction in the style of the original design.
The Mies Van Der Rohe day bed design was used for the first time in 1930 in Philip Johnson's apartment in New York and later shown to the public in 1931 at the Berlin Bau-Austellung as part of the furniture for a 'bachelor's apartment'.
The name Mies Van Der Rohe is only used to describe the characteristics of the goods made to the original design, and not as a trade mark.
I bought the daybed in black leather last year and it is excellent. The quality is very fine but what still sticks with me - beyond the product and around 12 months after buying - is the quality of the customer service. I subsequently have bought a bench and dining chairs from vita. Excellent products and service.
