The Charles Eames Style DSR Dining Chair is a high quality reproduction in the style of the original design.
Commonly known as the Eiffel chair, the Eames's designed this chair in 1948 as the first industrially manufactured fibreglass chair.
This classic piece has a welded wire base supporting a high back sculpted shell with deep seat pocket. A supremely comfortable dining chair, a waterfall edge adding to the long term sitting experience.
The purity of design to the DSR dining chair offers a simple elegant contrast to most dining tables, old or new.
The name Charles Eames is only used to describe the characteristics of the goods made to the original design, and not as a trade mark.

If you want these chairs in the high gloss finish that Charles and Ray Eames wanted you have to buy repro rather than the "originals", which are now made in "recyclable" polypropylene. I ordered eight in white. The chairs look really good. Like other reproductions, the base is in stainless steel rather than chromed steel but it is highly polished. The fibre glass seats are very glossy and appear well finished with very smooth edges. Each chair looks as if it will stand up to the rough and tumble of everyday life - I will post again if that proves incorrect! I was concerned that these may get damaged on the journey from China but need not have worried - they are VERY well packaged.
