The Le Corbusier Style LC6 Table is a high quality reproduction in the style of the original design.

Le Corbusier (October 6, 1887-August 27, 1965) was a Swiss architect, and one of the designers famous for what is now called modernism or the International Style. His career spanned five decades, and his portrait was featured on the Swiss ten francs banknote, pictured with his distinctive eyeglasses.

In 1929 at the Salon d'Autumne in Paris, Le Corbusier and his team of designers presented a revolutionary collection of furniture that stunned the city. Among the pieces was the ethereal yet bold LC6 Table (1928), a mathematically refined structure of steel and glass that has become one of the most important International Style tables of the 20th-century.

The name Le Corbusier is only used to describe the characteristics of the goods made to the original design, and not as a trade mark.

Made with a black lacquered metal base, the base is welded for a seamless finish with sculpted angles and smooth, mitered corners. The 220cm Length version seats up to 10

The tabletop is 15mm or 19mm thick rectangle of hardened glass, making this beautiful table equally at home as a dining table, and in the conference room.

DIMENSIONS:

85cm Width

220cm or 180cm Length

74cm Height

Very pleased with this table. We bought it with 15cm glass which is perfect ( the top weighs a tonne and isn't going anywhere). It is very stable when erected and looks very stylish. I must also coment on the service received; brilliant! Colin at the store explained that only one table remained - but there were a few blemishes - he gave details of all the faults and took pictures of the minor scratches. Not only did he discount the table but he agreed to get one of his staff to do some repair work. It was Vince, the delivery guy who repaired the table ( he use to work in a body shop for car repairs). I really couldn't see the repair when it was delivered - it was perfect. Vince also helped in carrying the table and table top up stairs to our lounge/ dining room. The table top was unbeleivably heavy and without Vince's muscles we just couldn't have managed. Vince then helped with the assembly of the table and the positioning of the top ( important to get this exact or the table looks lopsided). I have no hesitation in recommending Colin and Vince for their service and attention to detail.

Took delivery of an LC6 table with 19mm glass top a month ago. The 19mm top is very heavy but I think the extra 4mm thickness does give the table a really substantial look. I can't believe I was concerned it might flex - it does not move at all. I've seen the authorised version of the LC6 and this is a pretty good reproduction. The base is well finished and fully welded - I've seen bolted together types that do not look so sleek. There is no lateral movement in the frame at all. Overall, I am very pleased with both the table and the service. Like the previous reviewer, I should also mention Vita's delivery guy who helped get the table unpacked and the glass perfectly positioned before going on to his next drop. No rush on his part even though he had a van full of furniture to deliver.
